Staff and Governors

We are very fortunate to have excellent staff working with the children and parents in our school. In Nursery and Reception each class is taught by a Teacher and a Nursery Nurse with a TA who is shared between the two classes.

In Year One and Year Two each class is taught by a Teacher with a Teaching Assistant who works with all groups of children. There are also a number of additional Teaching Assistants who work with children who have additional needs. At lunch times each class has their own Midday Meals Supervisor who liaises with the Class Teacher to make sure that the children are happy and safe at lunch times.

Governing Body

Letter from Dr Rahi from the Governing Body.

It gives me great pleasure in welcoming the parents and residents of Tower Hamlets to the website of Blue Gates Infant School. I do so as chair of the Governing body of the school and on behalf of the Head teacher, the school staff and the governors. The makeup of the governing body and its main functions are described below. The members of the governing body support the school and ensure that our pupils are at the centre of what we do so that they learn in a safe environment free from discrimination, remain healthy, have enough time to play and explore and in doing so enjoy and work towards achieving their full potential to benefit themselves and the society in which they grow. In conjunction with the Head teacher, the school governors are intimately involved in strategic planning and ensuring progress in real partnership with the parents, the community and those who work in the school as one team.
